Youngest Vincentians Celebrate!
Mini Vinnies from across the Archdiocese of Glasgow gathered at ‘The Space’ project in Govanhill on Thursday 22nd June. 60 pupils from 9 schools spent the day talking about their Mini Vinnies work. They also learned about refugees and reflected on how their lives are different, but also have similarities. The theme, Welcome the Stranger’, was chosen as part of the celebration to mark the 400th anniversary of the Vincentian charism, which is being celebrated worldwide.
They finished the day with a reflection and guided meditation. As pictured, each participant wrote a promise about how they are going to ‘welcome the stranger’ in their Mini Vinnies work.
The hardworking Mini Vinnies from St Rose of Lima, St Thomas, Riddrie, St Andrew’s, Bearsden, St Mary’s, Duntocher, St Eunan’s and St Joseph’s, Clydebank, St Stephen’s, Dalmuir and St Michaels and St Patrick’s, Dumbarton were delighted to come together for the first time. Their teachers and local SSVP members also took the opportunity to build strong links with the other Mini Vinnies groups in the Archdiocese.
