150th Thanksgiving Mass for St Margaret’s Ayr

On Wednesday 31st October 2018 St Margaret’s, Ayr celebrated it’s 150th Anniversary as a SSVP conference.

St Margaret’s Conference was founded on Sunday 1^st November 1868 and boasted twelve active members and three honorary members. Despite being formed late in the year, the annual returns show a total income of ten pounds, six shillings and two pence, largely contributed to by the proceeds of a sermon, in the church, by the Right Rev. Dr. Lynch.

Sr Marie DC, a Daughter of Charity and member of St Margaret’s Conference said after the event “It was a wonderful evening and helped bring the SSVP to the forefront of the Parish. It was so good to see so many from other SSVP Conferences & the local Community” .
