SSVP Advent Reflection Week 4

In just a few days time we will celebrate the birth of our Saviour. Stop for a moment and just reflect on that reality.

The birth of any child is a miracle.
Many of you who are parents will remember the moment each of your children was born……that moment, having waited all those months for them to arrive, you met the face to face and held them for the first time. What a sense of wonder at the mystery of God that must be. A tiny, fragile human being, fresh into the world……truly a miracle!

As we continue our Advent journey into the last week of Advent, take some time from the shopping and presents just to sit and wonder at the miracle each human being is, made in the image and likeness of God. John the Baptist recognised Jesus; as soon as his mother Elizabeth met Mary,  John leapt in his mother’s womb.

Let’s pray these last few days before the birth of Jesus, for the grace, like John the Baptist, to recognise Jesus in all those we meet……remembering that each one, including yourself, is truly a miracle, a gift from God.
