Pope Francis Focus for 2018
The Pope is urging Catholics to dump life’s ‘useless baggage’ and embrace a devotion to Mary.
He said ” this would renew our faith and help rediscover what really matters and start over from there.”
Pope Francis began the New Year praying the world would increase solidarity and welcome refugees and migrants. The Society’s theme for it’s 400th Anniversary was to “Welcome the Stranger”, which the Pope wants us to continue into 2018.
He also reminds us that the call to Mary, the mother of God, is that “God is close to humanity as a child is close to its mother. All life to that of the elderly, is to be welcomed and loved.”
Our hope is peace for everyone and that communities, teachers and parents, keep working to help their families and neighbours in the year ahead.
