Getting Help
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul provides assistance to those in need. We are here to support individuals and families as we would support a friend. No distinction is made as to religion, colour, or creed, as to whom we serve, or those who we are serving.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) members make up local groups knows as SSVP Conferences. The Conferences are linked to local Catholic parishes, although not all parishes have a SSVP Conference.
If you or someone you know needs assistance please contact your local Catholic parish church, ideally at the time of a Church service, and ask if there is a Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Conference which you can contact.
Please bear in mind that our members are volunteers. Requests for assistance are reviewed at the SSVP Conference meetings when it is identified what assistance may be offered.
Regrettably, we are unable to offer immediate emergency support, nevertheless be assured that a response will be given as quickly as possible, usually within 2 weeks.
We respect your privacy: To respond to your Request for Assistance, SSVP Scotland will ask you for your personal contact details, what support you require and any supporting information which you feel will allow us to respond to your request.
This information will be held securely and confidentially in electronic or paper format. On completion of your request the local Conference will retain your information only as part of an archive.
Your information will not be shared out-with the SSVP Scotland without prior consent.
A full Privacy Notice is available from the SSVP Scotland National Office.
